Other days, it looks like swooning over your favorite book boyfriend, dressing for your favorite fantasy court, and eating a themed dinner inspired by a world you wish were real.

We think there's room for all of it.

So Cal Booked is a Southern California book community creating IRL experiences like sunset meet ups, bookstore collabs, fandom-inspired events and immersive book retreats.

Come for the books. Stay for the people, the places, and the excuse to make life a little more fun.

Our Story

  • Beach meetups, bookstore adventures, coffee dates, campfires, PowerPoint parties, and other reader events inspired by the magic of Southern California.

  • We love a theme, and we're not afraid to commit. Expect fandom-inspired dinners, activities, surprises, trivia, decor, and experiences that let you step a little further into the stories and worlds you love.

  • Escape for a day or an entire weekend with fellow readers. Our Southern California book retreats combine beautiful locations, themed meals and experiences, book discussions, downtime, and bookish little details.

  • So Cal Booked is designed for people who want to meet other readers, try something new, and build genuine friendships offline (our IG is poppin’ though so give us a follow over there).
